Delaware
In downtown Toronto, Ouroboros Deconstruction undertook a full structural deconstruction of a historic home on Delaware Avenue, built around 1910. This cute bungalow was one of the first homes on the block, and one of the last remaining original structures. While the home had significant water and termite damage, luckily for us most of the material was still viable.
Our team was on site for a total of 8 days to perform an interior strip, and full structural removal where we harvested lumber of various sizes and species. Our work on this project not only preserved valuable materials for reuse but also shone a light on the environmental and historical significance of deconstruction. The project was featured on CBC and the CBC What on Earth podcast, showcasing the potential of deconstruction to celebrate our work reducing waste.
This project exemplifies our commitment to salvaging materials, honoring the past, and building a more sustainable future.
